Exhibition

The exhibition design will be kept in line with the book's graphic design, which is based on the book covers, illustrations, industrial design, posters, advertisements (1936 – 1941) produced by P. Kien.

Both the book and the exhibition will be drawn up chronologically whereby each of the three sections-periods will be subdivided by theme and illustrated by photographic and archival materials.

The exhibition is planned to be set in three halls (4th yard of the Small Fortress). Music written by Terezin composers will be played in the café. Reproductions of books designed by Kien will be laid out as a “library” in the first exhibit hall. The art exposition will be placed in two further halls.

The first hall (1919 – 1941) will be dedicated to the life and work of Peter Kien before Terezin.

The second hall (1942 - 1944) will be dedicated to the Terezin period.
